PAYOUT - USA Agencies Wednesday June 11, 2003 The Roman Catholic church in Louisville, Kentucky has agreed to pay more than US$25m (GBP15m) to 243 alleged victims of child sex abuse. It is one of the largest settlements in the abuse scandal that has rocked the church in the US, and follows two similar agreements reached in New Hampshire and Boston in the last year. The Archbishop of the Louisville archdiocese, Thomas Kelly, apologised to victims last night as he announced details of the settlement, saying "no child should ever have experienced what happened to you." "I promise we are doing everything possible to prevent child abuse in the church. I apologize again for what we did or failed to do that led to your abuse." See full story HERE HELP A FRIEND. We realise that not everyone has access to either a computer or the internet. It would be helpful if those of us who have such access could download the information from sites highlighted and send a hard-copy to those who can't. HELP YOURSELF! You do not have a computer? So what? Take a trip to your nearest library - you may well find that from there you can access the Information Superhighway - and get to see YOUR e-zine for yourself - FREE! If that is not an incentive to 'get you out of the house' don't know what is ;o) For the time being please send any 'Snail Mail' to:
