PURE CONTI? Victims of abuse need to forgive - unless there is forgivness on the part of those who have been hurt there will be no true healing. That is the message you need to share with all those who form your Association The above formed part of a written reply from the Archbishop to Frank Docherty [INCAS]. The entire subject of Abuse in Care is, again, receiving wide coverage by national, and international media. In view of this it was thought appropriate to point out that, within the letter, it was also suggested that the issue of such an apology could go a long way to restoring the faith of victms of In-care Abuse - not only in themselves, but in their religous belief. This could well result in their returning to 'active participation' in same and, in a round about way, help alleviate a potential "Membership" crisis. INCAS Meeting - December 19 Policies document to be withheld pending publicity push. Paddy Doyle [author of The God Squad] has published a 'History of Neglect' on his website - the following extract, from 2001 is of particular relevance. "2001- Catholic Church agreed to pay over £100 million into a special State fund for victims of sex abuse. In return, the State arranged that people seeking compensation from the Residential Institutions Redress Board are barred from suing the Church directly. Only victims of sexual, not physical, abuse are eligible for compensation" The full document can be viewed Here Discussions, interminable, and campaigns on-going. For the time being please send any 'Snail Mail' to: First Floor 26 Ivanhoe East Kilbride G74 3NZ. or, email INCAS In an effort to prevent the recent "1964 Cut-Off" ruling - described by Marilyn Livingstone, MSP as "arbitrary" - being upheld in the Court of Session we ask supporters to write their MSP / MP asking him/her to contact Jim Wallace, MSP - Justice Minister - to overturn or amend the ruling. Upholding of same in the Court of Session would ensure real discrimination towards clients [some 458 from Nazareth House alone] which lawyer Cameron Fyfe is taking forward. Still Running - NO Feedback to date Paddy Doyle tells of a "Journal" sent [by post] to a number of addresses in the UK. He feels the content is cause for some concern - if only for it's anonymous nature and the author's obvious accessibility to some personal data. Paddy has reproduced the 'Journal' - unchanged - and it can be viewed here Like Paddy, we'd be interested to find out if anyone can throw some light as to the identity of the author(s). In closing:
